We begin by using only organically grown American hemp and vertically integrate our entire enterprise from seed to sale to ensure our products are pure, potent, and free of contaminants. As a result of our CO2 extraction methods, our CBD is free of any residual solvents while having the full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes that make for world class CBD products. This is why our CBD Lab Results and Certificates of Analysis come up “clean” every time.
Every batch of Beyond Botanicals products are tested by ISO-certified third party laboratories to ensure our certificates of analysis contain accurate and reliable information. Results for all batches are available below. Check a test – you’ll see the analysis of the full cannabinoid profile to proving that our products are as-advertised and contain below the legal limit of 0.3% THC. On the relevant full-spectrum products, you’ll also see the full terpene profile. This makes for premium CBD with results you can see. With our portal, Wholesale Clients can easily collect COA for the specific products they place in their stores. Our White Label Clients also have access to these certificates and the opportunity to rebrand them in their company’s name. View all our CBD Lab Test results here.
Our products are tested using Liquid Chromatography. This allows us to see all components and to make sure that our products are clean but also have all of the CBD dosages as advertised. The depth of these tests also allow for the analysis of other cannabinoids besides CBD, many of which may have wellness properties of their own including CBG and CBN. The tests also confirm that THC is either not present at all, or is present at less than .3%, which means our products meet federal specifications.
Do You Know Your CBD?
Though CBD is popular and almost ubiquitous, most people know very little about where it comes from and how it’s made. As a natural product used for self-care, we thought you should know a thing or two before you shop.
Cannabidiol Explained
What and Why?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in the hemp plant. It is a member of the phytocannabinoid family. Phytocannabinoids are plant-based compounds that work naturally with specific receptors in the human body. These receptors are part of the ECS, or endocannabinoid system, which maintains homeostasis, or balance, in our bodies. The ECS helps to regulate appetite and physical sensation, support cognitive function, and stabilize mood. CBD is extracted from the hemp plant and then added to a variety of common household supplements – capsules, tinctures, massage oils and even chewable gummies.
CBD? THC? Are they Different?
CBD is Not Marijuana
You may be surprised to know that hemp and marijuana are both from the plant whose scientific name is Cannabis sativa. The difference between the two is based on their content. Cannabis bred specifically for low THC content is called hemp. Conversely, cannabis bred for high THC content is commonly known as marijuana.
Legally, the two plants are separately defined by the Federal Farm Bill of 2018, which establishes “Industrial Hemp” as a Cannabis sativa plant with a THC concentration below 0.3 percent by weight. All of our products are grown from American hemp meeting this classification.
Is it Good? Is it Safe?
Quality Matters
Hemp is a bioaccumulator. That means it tends to absorb anything in its environment, including pesticides or heavy metals from the soil. This can be common with imported hemp. If your CBD product doesn’t have lab testing available to confirm the absence of these contaminants, its quality and provenance are likely to be suspect. You should only buy CBD products that use domestic hemp and are tested by independent, ISO-certified labs. At Beyond Botanicals, we put Transparency on a pedestal. It’s one of our core values, and it guides every effort we make in presenting the best possible CBD products.
What it is, and What it Isn’t
Hemp Oil
Hemp oil is short for hemp seed oil, which is the oil from seeds of the hemp plant. This oil is very popular and used in supplements, natural foods, and cosmetics, but is not naturally high in CBD. Hemp oil does not mean CBD oil, so if you see claims like “200mg hemp seed oil” as opposed to “200mg CBD”, you’re being led astray. CBD should come from the flowers of organically grown hemp cultivars that are high in CBD, and professionally extracted to ensure purity and potency.
It’s Affordable, But it’s Fake
Synthetic CBD
Quality CBD comes from reputable suppliers who can provide proof that they meet the necessary legal and regulatory requirements for operation. If a brand makes no mention of how their crop is grown, doesn’t provide test results, or simply uses the term “CBD” in their ingredients with specifying origin, you may be buying lab-made cannabinoids that could have been processed with any number of solvents, which can also contain harmful byproducts. In some cases, illnesses have been reported from consumption of synthetic cannabinoids. Look for Beyond Botanicals products which contain only plant-derived cannabinoids made from organically grown American hemp.
Cheap and Toxic
Solvent Extraction
Solvent extraction is the cheapest way to extract CBD from the hemp plant and involves using compounds like hexane, butane, or propane to dissolve plant components into solution. This method leaves residual solvents in the CBD oil, many of which are known carcinogens. Organic alcohol solvents can provide safe products like tinctures, but the process removes many beneficial plant waxes and dozens of other beneficial compounds of the hemp plant. If you want a safe product that contains everything good, your CBD should be CO2 extracted.
The Best of The Best
Supercritical CO2
Supercritical extraction uses carbon dioxide gas across temperature and pressure gradients to isolate and extract desired cannabinoids like CBD from the hemp plant. It is non-toxic and leaves no residual solvents. In fact, its use is widespread in highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing as well as with herbal supplements. When the extraction is complete, the carbon dioxide dissipates, leaving intact a concentrated extract without any residual solvents. This extract is then blended into the full array of Beyond Botanicals products.
Peach, which we use to flavor this CBD tincture, originated in ancient China and was domesticated as early as 6000BC along the Yangzee river.
In ancient India, hemp was considered one of the five sacred plants. It’s use in Ayurvedic medicine continues today to reduce “vata” or excess energy.
Full spectrum hemp oil contains healthy doses of omega-3 fatty acids which can help improve and stabilize mood – an excellent vegan source of Omegas.
Andy P –
I have done my homework on CBD oils. Not all companies and products are alike. The folks at Beyond Botanicals are the best I’ve dealt with and the only company I now use. There products are pure and of the potency that helps me. I’ve used tinture, gummies, massage oil and body butter. The ordering experience online and over the phone is fast, efficient and without any trouble, arriving promptly. Great products, great company, and great people!
